Pacific Scientific Stepper Motors w/cables

Info about the PacSci motors can be found Here

Single Shafted motors can be found HERE

These motors are model#

P21NSXC-LSS-NS-07 (type 'C')

Bipolar Series 1.75A, Bipolar Parallel 3.5A, 116 oz.in.

or

P21NSXS-LSS-NS-04 (type 'S')

Bipolar Series 1.16A, Bipolar Parallel 2.32A, 116 oz.in.

See PDF page 48 (doc. page 46)

See notes below

These stepper motors are RFE (Removed From Equipment)

They are not new and may have discoloration, however they are warranted to work properly.

I do not have any dynamic torque curves for either type of motor.

They are currently only available through Paypal Purchases or cashiers check/money order..

The base Price for the 3 Double Shaft Stepper motors each with a 4 foot cable is $100.00

Shipping is extra. You can calculate a total starting HERE.

The motors are shipped to United States addresses only. NO OVERSEAS SHIPPING

The motors & cables are pre-packaged and can not be packaged with other orders - sorry.

(3) Four foot cables not shown, but included with motors

Note on P21NSXXS-LSS-NS-04 (type 'S')

The cables are pre-wired for bipolar-parallel at the stepper end. The type 'S' are custom wound motors that should be run at a maximum 2.32A/phase (Vref of 3.34V). To achieve the smoother microstepping motion though, they should be run slightly lower (2.2A/phase, Vref 3.15V). When run at 2.2A/phase , you will not be getting quite the full 116 oz.-in. of torque available from the motors, but you will get smoother motion. You can adjust Vref up to 3.34V, but if the motor starts running rough, back down to a lower Vref voltage. These motors, when coupled with the Xylotex 2.5A/phase drive, a Vref setting of 2.2A, 1/8th step microstepping, and a 24VDC to 30VDC power supply will give good performance on a Sherline (or small homebrew/retrofit) sized machine. Because the Xylotex drive will be running at/near its' maximum with this setting, a cooling fan is required to keep the Xylotex drive heatsinks cool. The custom windings of the motors causes the inductance to be slightly higher than those described below. This allows you to get more low speed torque (close to max), at the expense of a slower high speed step rate.

Note on P21NSXC-LSS-NS-07 (type 'C')

The cables are pre-wired for bipolar-parallel at the stepper end. Although when run at 2.5A/phase (Xylotex 3 axis max. current rating), you will not be getting the full 116 oz.-in. of torque available from the motors, you will get much better high speed performance than if run in series winding mode (with full torque). These motors, when coupled with the Xylotex 2.5A/phase drive, a Vref setting of 3.45V to 3.60V, 1/8th step microstepping, and a 24VDC to 30VDC power supply will give good performance on a Sherline (or small homebrew/retrofit) sized machine. Because the Xylotex drive will be running at/near its' maximum with this setting, a cooling fan is required to keep the Xylotex drive heatsinks cool. Compare with the motors above
